Overview
Veronica Fitzpatrick is a Visiting Assistant Professor in film and media studies, teaching courses on global film history and theoretical explorations of genre. She received her Ph.D. in English and Film Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018 and holds an M.F.A. in writing from the University of Notre Dame. Her research surrounds problems of violence, ethics, form, and affect, in objects ranging from global art cinema to reality television to the contemporary horror film. Her scholarship has been published in the journals Safundi, Thresholds, and World Picture; in the anthology The Apartment Complex: Urban Living and Global Screen Cultures (Duke, 2018); and in the magazine Bright Wall/Dark Room, where she is a staff writer. Further bylines include cléo: a journal of film and feminism, Ebert Voices, Ploughshares, and The Village Voice.
