Overview
Sonia is a graduate peer tutor pursuing her Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning. Her research interests revolve around the politics around cities’ responses to water and climate change. She has experience in working on abstracts, presentations, personal statements, teaching statements, cover letters, research papers, and grant and research proposals. Sonia is a native speaker of Bengali, but understands and can speak Hindi and Urdu as well.
Sonia wants students to walk out of the appointment feeling better about their project. She believes like all writers, students must write a “zero draft” in order to develop a good written document, whether it is a cover letter or a research paper. They then need the time to revise. So as a tutor she hopes to show students how to develop a first draft and then use their revision time to improve the whole project.
