I am from Camas, Washington, a small suburb across the river from Portland, Oregon. I’ve grown up hiking the Columbia River Gorge trails, planting trees in the wetlands (aka swamp), and truly loving nature. I enjoy the spontaneous challenges that life presents, whether it’s climbing a glacier or baking bread. However most notably, I have zest for life and for oat milk.
I applied to the Milstein Program because I think effective communication between scientific experts and the general public is crucial to our future. I’m excited to explore this niche using a combination of computer science and the humanities.
