Overview
Itziar Rodríguez de Rivera received her Ph.D. in Spanish from Harvard University, an M.A in Spanish from the University at Albany SUNY, and a B.A in English from Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Her research and teaching interests focus on modern and contemporary Spanish peninsular literature and culture, with an emphasis on gender and sexuality. She has taught courses in Spanish Peninsular literature and cinema. She is currently working on a book manuscript, Paper Women: Figures of the ‘Lesbian’ in Spanish Literature and Culture 1868-1936, that examines the figure of the lesbian in late 19th century and early 20th century Spain.
