Eberhard Bodenschatz

Assistant Professor

Overview

Research Focus

Dr. Eberhard Bodenschatz investigates both experimentally and theoretically complex nonlinear systems in physical, biological, and medical systems. He is currently collaborating with Prof. Gilmour from the Veterinary School in the investigation of the heart dynamics that leads to sudden cardiac death. In collaboration with a group at the University of California and at Cornell, his research group conducts experiments in biophysics and nano-biotechnology using micro-fluidic devices to probe and understand intra-cellular and extra-cellular networks of eukaryotes. Other research interests include experimental investigation of nonlinear systems; pattern formation in physics, geophysics, and biology, spatiotemporal chaos, turbulence, fluid dynamics; image processing and visualization, computational physics of nonlinear systems.
